A week in Iceland

  1. Day 1

    Arrival and Blue Lagoon

    Land in Reykjavík and base in peaceful Laugardalur; afternoon soak at the Blue Lagoon; dinner at Kopar by the old harbor under the midnight sun.

  2. Day 2

    South coast waterfalls, black beach, Glacier Lagoon

    Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, Reynisfjara black beach with basalt columns, then a boat ride among icebergs at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.

  3. Day 3

    Sunrise, glacier hike, and downtown

    Sunrise from Hallgrímskirkja tower, a guided hike on Sólheimajökull glacier, then colorful downtown Reykjavík and dinner at Matarkjallarinn.

  4. Day 4

    Thingvellir, geysers, and volcano country

    Thingvellir National Park and the rift valley, Strokkur geyser eruptions at Haukadalur, then a hike to a safe viewpoint at Fagradalsfjall volcano near Grindavík.

  5. Day 5

    Departure and farewell

    Pack up from the Laugardalur base and head home with ring-road miles and geothermal memories from the week.
